Job Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated electrical systems and solutions. This role involves utilizing extensive expertise and leadership skills, driving innovation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing mentorship to junior team members, contributing to the success and advancement of complex engineering projects within Hubbell. 
 

A Day In The Life

  • Leading the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards. 
  • Providing technical leadership to a team of engineers, guiding them in project execution, problem-solving, and skill development. 
  • Conducting thorough analyses, simulations, and tests to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance. 
  • Evaluating project feasibility, developing project plans, and contributing to budgeting and scheduling efforts. 
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the design and implementation process. 
  • Driving innovation by staying up to date on emerging technologies and recommending improvement to existing systems and processes. 
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, presenting project updates, technical findings, and recommendations. 

 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering with a focus on design and project management (required) 
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant tools for electrical design, analysis, and simulation (required) 
  • Experience with test equipment and measurement methodologies for electrical systems
  • Eperience with regulatory agencies such as FCC, UL, CSA, etc. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with product safety and EMC standards
  • Familiarity with 3 phase and split phase power systems
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to mentor and guide engineering teams 
  • Expertise in electrical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies 
  • Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail 
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders 
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
