Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT) – Surgery & Anesthesia Focus

Compensation: Based on Experience & Credentialing

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT) to join our team. We are looking for a technician with strong skills in surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing exceptional medical care to pets and their families.

This role is ideal for a credentialed technician who enjoys being an integral part of the surgical team and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality patient care from admission through recovery.

Position Responsibilities

  • Monitor anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative treatments and catheter placement
  • Perform accurate anesthetic calculations and maintain anesthesia records
  • Closely monitor patient vitals throughout procedures and recovery
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical and dental procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing
  • Educate clients on surgical procedures, discharge instructions, and at-home care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support daily hospital operations
  • Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide exceptional patient care

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Current CVT, LVT, or RVT credential required
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing skills
  • Comfortable with anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Proficient in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and medication administration
  • Experience with dental procedures and dental radiographs is a plus
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
  • Able to work efficiently in a busy hospital environment
