What We’re Looking For:

As a Warehouse General Supervisor for Kohler Co., you will oversee, supervise, and have overall responsibility for 3 Supervisors, roughly 130 hourly associates and the overall operation of the Sheridan distribution center. In this role, your duties will include receiving, picking & shipping, materials movements accuracy and inventory control. You will also ensure and follow up on equipment preservation and vehicle maintenance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the put away, replenishment, picking, and inventory management of components & finished products; determine with Warehouse Manager, where product is to be stored and change procedures as required to suit the inventory accuracy at any time
  • Assign personnel daily, in the most favorable economic advantage, to perform the principal warehouse tasks: receiving, shipping schedules and components movements
  • Control the input of data in the Warehouse Management System, as required to meet daily processing needs
  • Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, train an efficient and adequate workforce to meet all the warehouse activities and deliveries to the customers
  • Support daily work measurement programs, training employees in proper reporting techniques required, auditing job elements, and issuing change of operations notices as needed
  • Ensure good housekeeping like 5S to protect product and maintain an orderly work environment
  • Maintain storage and material handling equipment in good, safe operating condition; make regular internal audits and initiate orders for repairs or replacements as necessary
  • Evaluate performance of subordinates and recommend rate increases and disciplinary actions as required
  • Role model and enforce all company policies and guidelines, especially as they relate to safety, personnel, and housekeeping
  • Prepares all time, production, and usage reports pertinent to operations as directed; may also be required to prepare other special reports or perform other duties or work on special projects as directed by the Warehouse Manager
  • Prepare and maintain reports such as Safety, Rates, Warehouse productivity (shipments per operator), Quality, Inventory Cycle count accomplishment, LOTIF performance, On-time shipping
  • Perform all other duties and projects as required by Management
  • Participate in safety initiatives such as wall to wall inspections, support program management/updates, incident investigations, safety training and accident prevention, day to day safety and new equipment process approval, Kaizen events, safety teams, allocate funds for safety equipment and initiatives, and return to work program
  • Maintain training on all applicable SOPs, LOPs, policies, and procedures, EHS countermeasures and safety accidents

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years progressive experience in warehouse operations
  • 3+ years of team lead, supervisory, or management experience
  • Must be safety conscious, company- and customer-oriented with the ability to independently make and carry out sound decisions
  • Proficient in use of all common computer Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Skilled in SAP WM
  • Some travel for the purposes of training, ongoing development, and business exposure may be required during the construction and start-up phases of the facility
