Sheridan Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
  • Monitoring and providing nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Performa dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

 

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $20-24 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling and availability needed Monday-Friday. No weekends!

Full-time Benefits Package*:

  • Bonus package: $2,000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of [state]

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing LicensedVeterinary Technician in the state of Michigan
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
    • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
    • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
    • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
    • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Client education and communication
    • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply.
