Employee Relations Team Lead

Are you a Human Resources professional who thrives on solving complex workplace challenges, coaching leaders, and fostering a culture of accountability and respect? Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas (GWNETX) is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Team Lead to serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters across our Texas and Oklahoma operations.

In this highly visible role, you will partner with leaders at all levels to promote a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and best practices. You will lead employee relations efforts that support our mission, protect our people, and strengthen our organization.

What You'll Do

As the Employee Relations Team Lead, you will manage employee relations cases from intake through resolution, addressing workplace concerns including performance management, attendance, policy violations, conflict resolution, misconduct, and corrective action. You will provide expert coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors, helping them navigate sensitive employee situations with confidence, consistency, and fairness.

You will conduct workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, safety concerns, workplace violence, theft, and other policy-related matters. This includes gathering evidence, interviewing involved parties, documenting findings, and preparing comprehensive investigation reports.

In addition, you will serve as a subject matter expert on federal employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII, while supporting compliance with Texas and Oklahoma employment regulations. Responsibilities also include leave administration, unemployment claims management, agency responses, policy interpretation, exit interview analysis, and employment-related reporting.

You will deliver manager training on employee relations topics, support leadership development initiatives, and use workforce data to identify trends, improve retention, reduce organizational risk, and strengthen employee engagement across multiple locations.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong investigative skills, sound judgment, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal candidate can effectively balance employee advocacy with organizational needs while building trust with team members, supervisors, and senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Three to five years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, workplace investigations, corrective action management, and manager coaching
  • Knowledge of employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII
  • Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred
  • Valid Texas or Oklahoma driver's license and ability to travel throughout the GWNETX service area
