JOB DESCRIPTION     

The primary function of this role is to remove pallets of product from the production line, scan them into the computer inventory system, and, using a fork truck, place them in designated warehouse racks. At times, this role assists warehouse technicians loading/unloading trucks with minimum damage, according to standard loading procedures. Actively involved in identifying and delivering process improvements and maintaining Inventory accuracy and GMP standards. 


Key Responsibilities

In this role you will

-    Use a Radio Frequency Terminal (RFT). 

-    Operation of forklift according to plant safety standards.

-    Complete daily forklift inspection sheets & reporting of damage.

-    Loading/Unloading trucks according to standard loading procedures.

-    Completion of shipping/receiving paperwork.

-    Staging and tagging of raw materials.

-    Inspect pallets in accordance to quality specifications.

-    Unloading and staging of inspected pallets and packing material.

-    Adherence to the Hold/Release procedures.

-    Maintaining appearance of work area, according to GMP standards.

-    Support and help drive overall results for the plant goals in Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Workplace Excellence, and 

Sustainability

-    Involvement in Safety and Quality System ownership and audits.

-    Involved in process improvement and problem solving.

-    Improve flexibility to flex into other areas of the plant in periods of low production – train how to run the palletizer, load/unload trucks, etc. 

-    Restock materials as required.

-    Participate in basic maintenance activities as required.

-    Performs necessary steps to ensure Personnel Safety, Quality and Food Safety.

-    Performs other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

-    Work predominantly indoors, including 40-degree cold storage warehouse, and on occasion outdoors in the seasonal ranges of temperature and humidity

-    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

-    Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, etc.

-    Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and wear sanitary protective clothing (example:  coveralls, hairnets, beard covers)

-    Comply with all Plant Safe Practices

-    Function effectively within a team of Technicians and Managers in the areas of: Basic communication, Priority setting, Conflict resolution, Problem solving, Feedback (giving & receiving),    Teamwork, Goal setting, Time management, Personal accountability.

-    Work shifts (up to 12 hour) in a variety of schedule configurations including nights and weekends, and occasional overtime

-    Maintain an acceptable attendance record

-    Employees will receive an evaluation during their probationary period, based on the 30/60/90 day New Hire evaluation plan. After the New Hire probation period, each person will develop a Performance Assessment Tool (PAT) with their team leader which will be evaluated annually. PAT ratings will be considered when any technician applies for other positions in the Plant.

-    Improve warehouse inventory accuracy and reduce property damages.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

-    Fork truck driving experience

-    Personal computer skills

-    Proficient technical reading and math ability

-    Schedule flexibility, weekends and on call

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

-    Team oriented, skill-based work system experience

-    Warehouse skills

-    two years fork truck driving experience
