Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Neuro Hospitalist (Inpatient, 7-on/7-off)

  • Sherman, TX | Full-Time | Inpatient Hospital Setting
  • Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | Rotational Schedule
  • Pay Range: $120,000 – $155,000 per year (Commensurate with Experience)

Position Summary
A well-established hospital-based neurology and stroke program in the Sherman, Texas area is hiring a Neuro Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to manage inpatient neurological and cerebrovascular cases in collaboration with experienced neurologists and critical-care specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inpatient evaluations, neurological exams, and care planning for patients with acute neurological conditions.

  • Participate in stroke codes, multidisciplinary rounds, and daily treatment updates.

  • Manage patients in step-down and neuro-critical care settings.

  • Educate patients and families about neurological disease processes, treatments, and recovery.

  • Support ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Texas RN license and ACNP certification

  • BLS (required); ACLS (preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience in acute or hospital-based NP practice

  • Excellent clinical judgment and documentation accuracy

Preferred

  • Background in neurology, neuro-critical care, or hospital medicine

  • Stroke certification or advanced training (NIHSS, ENLS)

  • Familiarity with EEG, lumbar puncture, or neuro imaging procedures
