Library Adult Programmer

Library Adult Programmer (Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week)

Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking an outgoing, energetic, and service-oriented professional to join our programming team at Sanders Library (10200 Johnson Drive, Sherwood, AR 72120). This position plays a key role in creating engaging experiences for a diverse adult audience and fostering meaningful community connections. 

Responsibilities include:

• Planning, coordinating, and presenting in-library and outreach programs for adult patrons
• Creating and promoting programs through printed and digital marketing materials
• Collaborating with library staff to develop innovative programming opportunities
• Building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and local stakeholders
• Providing excellent customer service at the public service desk
• Assisting patrons in person and by phone with information requests, technology questions, and library resources
• Performing general library duties, including workroom tasks and shelving materials
• Upholding library policies and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication, customer service, and technology skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse public and as part of a collaborative team
• Confidence in enforcing library policies and standards of conduct
• Experience working with adults is preferred
• Knowledge of popular adult literature and familiarity with current media and cultural trends is highly desirable

Schedule: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Some evening and Saturday hours are required.
