Job Summary:

The Fire Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of fire protection systems within various facilities. This position involves working in the field overseeing the installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection equipment to meet regulatory standards and best practices. The supervisor will support a team of technicians, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality service delivery. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with other departments to develop and implement fire safety protocols and emergency response plans. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of fire technicians.
  • Participate in hiring, coaching, developing, and managing performance for fire technicians.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of fire protection technicians and contractors.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement fire safety training programs for staff and emergency response drills.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to fire safety inspections, incidents, and compliance audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in fire protection industry, required.
  • Experience in project coordination and team supervision, required.
  • Valid Fire Protection license/certification required for the areas of oversight, required.
  • Knowledge of advanced fire protection technologies and systems, preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug and background check. 
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and have full use of hands. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to work from a ladder, and in some case, a man-lift.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel daily.
