About the Role:
The Accountant in the health care industry plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial integrity of the organization. The Accountant will perform daily accounting processes and activities for the group; responsible for fixed assets, reconciling bank accounts, inputting journal entries and accruals, and assisting the Accounting Supervisor with special projects as needed.
Location: 943 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5m
Salary will commensurate with accounting experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial accounting and cost accounting, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and software relevant to financial management.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
- Advanced Microsoft ® Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with healthcare financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Advanced skills in financial audit preparation and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Daily bank report downloads and distribution
- Daily reconciliation of cash receipts with posting team
- Daily bank reconciliation (clear outstanding checks, balance accounts, research discrepancies)
- Daily reconciliation of bank account and balance to business office transactions
- Email clinical studies receipts to research staff and ensure entered into GL before month end
- Daily journal entry input
- Prepare and post statistical dataÂ
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries
- Prepare and post allocation entries
- Prepare monthly accounts payable accruals and post journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts for all companiesÂ
- Reconcile bank accounts for all companies
- Manage fixed assets for all companiesÂ
- Settle intercompany due to/due from accounts
- Review income statement accounts by location monthly
- Prepare and review financial statements for distribution to locations
- Quarterly radiology true-up and invoicing
- Maintain pre-paids for all companies
- Review weekly check run for invoice approval and data accuracy
- Scan journal entries and related back-up to server
- Check Positive Pay Exceptions, setup Positive Pay files and ACH fraud controlÂ
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting systems and principles, adapting processes as needed to meet regulatory requirements
