Ortho On-Call is a growing UrgentCareand we are currentlyhiringaPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.This position will join our exceptional team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and sports medicine physicians and will ensure our teams continue to deliver quality care in a patient-focused setting.聽

Ortho On-Call's walk-in urgent care clinics are designed specifically to treat acute orthopedic-related injuries and conditions andaresupportedby the board-certified physicians and full-service therapies of OrthoVirginia. The successful candidate will be a qualified and compassionate provider withalicensureto see all age ranges.聽聽

Primary Functions & Accountabilities

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for immediate health care needs, as well as provide employer services.

  • Urgent care, emergency room responsibilities. As we are open361 daysa year, weekend and evening shifts will berequired.聽

  • Ordering and interpretingappropriate diagnostictests

  • Fracture/Dislocation reductions/management, laceration repair, joint injections

  • Instructs patients and familiesregardingdiagnosis, treatmentplanand medications

  • Consults with physicians whenwarrantedto assess patient condition and treatment plan

  • Ensures that medical charts and administrative paperwork are completedin a timely manner

  • Performs within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director

  • Provides support to medical and office staff

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalate as appropriate

  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events, or drills

  • Ability to follow instructions and make decisions with little supervision

  • Ability tomaintainprofessional demeanor in all aspects of role

  • Travels between facilities when indicated

  • Strong customer service skills and excellent communicationskills

Candidate must have experience in:

  • Sports injuries Sprains & strains Slips, trips, falls聽

  • Hand & wrist injuries Foot & ankle injuries Knee/shoulder injuries聽

  • Cuts & lacerations聽

  • Back & neck injuries聽

  • Broken bones聽

  • Sports physicals (NOVA & RIC)聽

  • Work-related injuries

Position Requirements

  • Board Certified/Eligible

  • Prefer 2+ years of orthopedic experience or practice in Emergency/Urgent Care clinical/hospital setting

  • Active/current state medical license and eligible for a VA Medical License

  • DEA License

  • Physical health to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position

Compensation Range for this position:

$111,200.00 - $166,800.00

Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
