POSITION: Full-Time, Hourly, Starting pay: $20/hr (experience-based)

 

 

SUMMARY:

This skilled position is responsible for the installation, set up, repair and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling and/or fountain equipment at customer accounts. This person diagnoses equipment problems, using judgment to determine how to best repair or replace it. This position requires lifting, carrying, pulling/pushing heavy equipment, mechanical aptitude, and a working knowledge of cooling systems.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance on coolers, fountains, bar guns, ice makers and vending equipment. Remove / fix old parts and/or replace with new parts.
  • Deliver vending machines into accounts
  • Educate customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures.
  • Install equipment: Make holes and route lines to connect product to dispensing unit; connect water supply, gas supply, syrup supply and find drain; build racks and connect lines for BIB.
  • Fill installed equipment and adjust to proper water to syrup (brix).
  • Prioritize and schedule service and PM calls to meet customer service windows.
  • Drive to locations, evaluate issues and perform necessary work.
  • Collect accurate and complete equipment and customer information.
  • Maintain parts inventory on service vehicle.
  • Establish positive relationships with contacts from service calls.
  • After each call, complete paperwork on job and submit.
  • Lift, carry, pull, push and/or move at least 55 pounds repeatedly over workday.
  • Using proper equipment, move vending machines weighing between 800 and 1200 pounds.
  • Installs equipment in businesses in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
  • Assists in the promotion and sale of extra equipment.
  • Completely and accurately tests installed equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order prior to departure from installation site.
  • Provides a thorough explanation of equipment, its capabilities and operation to the customer; responds to all questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, service orders, equipment removals and preventative maintenance. 
  • Maintains inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels; participates in form inventory process on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Maintains control of all assigned company property and ensures that equipment is always maintained in safe operating condition.
  • Safely operates assigned company vehicle and ensures that it is maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Exhibits appearance and conduct in accordance with established company standards to present a professional image to customers and the general public; maintains the highest degree of decency, honesty, and integrity as a guest in a customers’ business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

NOT REQUIRED BUT Helpful:

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one year related 
  • 608 HVAC Certification
  • Understanding of Electrical systems
  • Know How to Use A voltmeter
