Job DetailsJob Location: Booker T Washington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation - SHREVEPORT, LA 71106Job Shift: DayThe Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, dining areas, and common areas daily. Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors and furniture. Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, and other restroom fixtures. Empty trash containers and dispose of waste properly. Replenish paper products, soap, and other housekeeping supplies. Clean windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and other surfaces as assigned. Follow infection control procedures and safety regulations. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored. Assist with room preparation for new admissions and resident transfers. Respond promptly to spills and emergency cleaning situations. Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times. Participate in facility training programs and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility preferred but not required. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be dependable, courteous, and resident-focused. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate housekeeping equipment safely. Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and follow safety guidelines. Working Conditions: Long-term care and skilled nursing facility environment. Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and bodily fluids. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
