Our orthopedic services also extend to an Outreach clinic located in Marshall, Texas.

Job Overview

Shriners Children's Shreveport is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Rehab department.Ā Ā The Physical TherapistĀ provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.Ā  In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our pediatric patients with orthopedic and sports medicine related conditions.Ā  You will provide evaluations and therapy services, education and training to meet the needs of our patients helping them return to sport.Ā  The successful candidate will get the opportunity to learn and grow in their practice by being exposed to multiple patient types.

Hours: In this position you will work 10 hour shifts - 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday (with one day off per week).Ā  Five - 8 hour shifts would also be considered, if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care
  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the patient and their family.
  • Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as mentoring and providing education to students and other professionals.
  • Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate, thorough documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy

Ā Louisiana PT license

Ā 

Preferred:

1 year physical therapy experience; new graduates will be considered

Pediatric experience

Sports experience
