Position Overview
Tarpon / Paloma Specialty Services is now hiring experienced Structural Welders for an active industrial construction project in Greenville, Mississippi. We are actively recruiting from the Shreveport metro area — if you're a qualified welder willing to work in Greenville, we want to talk.
Per diem is available for qualifying out-of-area workers. This is a serious project with immediate openings — not a pipeline posting.
What You'll Do
Perform structural welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions using FCAW (Flux Core) and SMAW (Stick) processes
Execute fit-up, tacking, and welding of structural connections per project specifications and applicable codes
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld procedure specifications (WPS)
Inspect welds for conformance to specification; maintain required documentation
Coordinate with foremen, ironworkers, and other trades on site
Follow all site safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety policies at all times
Minimum Requirements
Qualified or able to qualify in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions — FCAW (Flux Core) and SMAW (Stick) required
3+ years of structural welding experience in industrial or heavy construction environments
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld procedure specifications
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred; site safety orientation required
Valid government-issued photo ID and reliable transportation to the Greenville, MS job site
Must pass pre-employment drug screening — drug-free workplace
Preferred Qualifications
Current weld certifications in 2G, 3G, and/or 4G — FCAW and SMAW
AWS Certified Welder (CW) credential
Prior experience on power, industrial, or energy construction projects
Louisiana or Mid-South regional field experience a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly wages commensurate with experience and weld certifications
Per diem available for qualifying out-of-area workers — Shreveport-area candidates encouraged to ask about eligibility
Overtime opportunities based on project schedule
Project-based contract with potential for extended assignment based on performance
