Ensures operators understand and meet all quality expectations for their specific job. Work from production schedule and lead people in daily work activities. Focus on safety issues throughout the shop, work with manager on safety issues and conduct safety audits when needed, train new employees in safety procedures in their work area. Organizing and planning, make efficient use of time and schedule product flow. Scheduling:  Manpower requirements, effective planning of lead time and maintenance to insure completion of production schedule. Be able to train operators and instruct employees in daily work activities. Ensure housekeeping is maintained. Communicate via email as well as written. Open shop as needed and help schedule 2nd shift work. Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly. Reports maintenance issues accurately using current maintenance management system.  Ensure that employees have tools and resources necessary to be successful. Set hourly/daily performance targets and hold operators responsible for meeting those targets   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise employees and work directly with management. Carry out daily operations in production when manager is not available. Train employees, plan, assign, and direct work. Follow all safety and healthy policies and procedures issued by the company.     KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read tape measure accurately. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. 5 years industrial experience preferred Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office)   WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves. PPE REQUIRED Safety glasses, ear protection, steel toed boots, and gloves.  Use of grinder requires face shield or goggles. FALL PROTECTION ASSESSMENT N/A   Qualifications
