Beecher's Handmade Cheese is excited to be opening a new cheesemaking facility in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, and we're looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations, support equipment reliability, and help build a high-performing maintenance team.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for executing preventive maintenance programs, supporting plant operations, and fostering a culture of ownership, safety, and accountability. You'll play a key role in ensuring our equipment, utilities, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably from day one.

 

What You'll Do

  • Lead maintenance operations for plant equipment, utilities, and facility systems
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup activities, and FAT/SAT processes
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize reliability and uptime
  • Manage the CMMS, including work orders, preventive maintenance scheduling, asset history, and performance tracking
  • Oversee spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies
  • Oversee contractors and specialized service providers, including electrical, refrigeration, boiler, and utility partners
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, including LOTO, machine guarding, and confined space requirements
  • Support calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, controls, sensors, and process equipment
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment and reliability issues
  • Manage plant utilities, including steam, water, refrigeration, compressed air, and wastewater systems
  • Partner with Operations to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and support production goals
  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement

 

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or industrial operations, including experience leading maintenance teams
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience implementing or managing CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of food-grade equipment standards and manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing utilities and plant infrastructure systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and process control schematics
  • Understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices
  • Experience leading contractors, capital projects, equipment installations, and plant startups
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience conducting root-cause analysis and driving lasting solutions
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the production floor and a commitment to doing things the right way

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range for this position is between $70,000 to $80,000per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
