Advanced Manufacturing Quality Technician

Job Description

If you're a Quality Technician ready to take the next step in your career, Copeland invites you to join our innovative Advanced Manufacturing team. We are seeking a hands-on professional with strong Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming, calibration, and analytical expertise to help drive precision and efficiency in manufacturing.

Based at our Sidney, Oh. main campus, this role plays a key part in implementing cutting-edge gaging and inspection technologies within a high-performance machining environment. You will collaborate closely with our advanced manufacturing and automation engineering teams to develop integrated solutions that optimize production, reduce capital investment, improve quality, and support the successful development and launch of new products.

AS AN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING QUALITY TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

  • CMM Programming: Specialize in developing, implementing, and debugging programs using CMM software like PC-DMIS or MODUS to ensure manufactured products meet precise and high-quality standards.

  • Quality Compliance: Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform new gauging technology installations, calibrations, gage R&Rs, and maintain various inspection devices and gaging systems.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyzing measurement data for deviations, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and creating technical reports.

  • Problem Solving: Work with engineering to improve processes and identify root causes of defects. 

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform new gauging technology installations, calibrations, gage R&Rs, and maintain various inspection devices and gaging systems.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

 

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform new gauging technology installations, calibrations, gage R&Rs, and maintain various inspection devices and gaging systems.

  • Practical knowledge of metrology CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, MODUS).

  • Practical knowledge on reading prints and interpreting GD&T

  • Experience reading & interpreting specifications and technical documents

  • Solid understanding of mathematics, statistics, and measurement uncertainty

  • Ability to work with computer software and databases such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel ~10-15%

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform new gauging technology installations, calibrations, gage R&Rs, and maintain various inspection devices and gaging systems.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Motivated to complete assignments with little supervision, action-oriented

  • Strong background with metrology CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, MODUS) and 3D modeling software.

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform new gauging technology installations, calibrations, gage R&Rs, and maintain various inspection devices and gaging systems.

  • 1 year Gage Calibration experience

  • Experience in a CNC manufacturing environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience in a Quality Lab environment

  • Strong team skills with the ability to effectively train others
