Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring production uptime while maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with USDA/FDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on production equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures and respond quickly to minimize downtime
  • Repair or fabricate parts using welders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other shop equipment
  • Install, assemble, and repair machinery, pipe systems, and electrical components
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, diagrams, and manuals
  • Test repairs and installations to ensure proper functionality
  • Maintain and repair electrically driven systems, motors, and equipment
  • Work with PLC motor controls, VFDs, and ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Accurately record maintenance work and parts used in a CMMS system
  • Follow all food safety, SQF, and OSHA regulations at all times
  • Support continuous improvement and preventative maintenance initiatives
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems preferred
  • Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or on a team

Education & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, with or without notice

Work Environment

  • Refrigerated environment (34°F – 45°F)
  • Wet, fast-paced food production setting
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs; up to 75 lbs with assistance
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
  • Ability to work in a cold, noisy environment and multitask effectively
