Functions of Position:
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance and safety standards in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
- Provides technical and procedural support for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, functioning as a key member of the multidisciplinary Cath Lab team.
- Assists physicians during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including primary PCI for STEMI and NSTEMI, peripheral vascular and endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures as applicable.
- Scrubs and assists with sterile technique during cardiovascular procedures, maintaining the sterile field and assisting with procedural troubleshooting.
- Prepares and maintains Cath Lab procedure rooms, including equipment, supplies, medications, and imaging systems.
- Operates imaging, fluoroscopy, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, including adjunctive technologies such as IVUS/OCT and pressure wire systems, as assigned and within scope of practice.
- Assists with patient positioning, vascular access support, contrast administration, table positioning, and closure device deployment per policy.
- Verifies patient identity, procedure, and consent; monitors patient status during procedures and promptly reports changes to the RN or physician.
- Ensures adherence to radiation safety principles, infection prevention standards, and sterile processing requirements.
- Checks Cath Lab equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis; performs daily equipment checks and ensures proper functionality.
- Maintains Cath Lab equipment in efficient operating order and notifies leadership of equipment malfunctions or service needs in a timely manner.
- Assists with inventory management, stocking, supply rotation, and ordering to ensure availability of necessary materials.
- Accurately documents procedural data, imaging, and hemodynamic information in the electronic medical record and hemodynamic recording systems.
- Participates in time-outs, case counts, quality assurance activities, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintains orderly, clean, and safe work areas.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, current literature, and workshops.
- Attends staff meetings and participates in orientation, education, and training of new staff or students as assigned.
- Maintains workflow to ensure procedures and related duties are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

 Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or related allied health program preferred.
- In lieu of formal education, candidates with 2–4 years of recent Cath Lab experience obtained through structured on-the-job training may be considered.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) – preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
- ACLS – requiredÂ
