Description

The Production Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role evaluates existing operations, develops innovative solutions, and implements best practices to optimize productivity and resource utilization. The Production Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance process reliability, and support operational excellence. 


      

Process Analysis & Optimization

  • Review and evaluate production workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design, test, and implement process enhancements to improve throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to increase production capability and resource utilization, including labor, energy, and raw materials.
  • Monitor key production metrics, analyze trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement equipment upgrades and process modifications.
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient processes.

Technical Support & Project Execution

  • Provide technical support to operations teams, troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
  • Participate in small to medium-scale capital projects, including installation, commissioning, and process upgrades.
  • Support process trials and pilot testing for new products or process improvements.
  • Use data analysis and engineering principles to recommend corrective actions and optimize operations.
  • Assist in designing experiments, evaluating results, and documenting outcomes for process improvement initiatives.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all production activities comply with internal policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement programs focused on safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate records of process changes, operational data, and project documentation.

Requirements

      

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or related experience required. 
  • 2–5 years in manufacturing or production engineering.
  • OSHA 10/30 General Industry Safety Training preferred. 
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience in chemical, polymer, or specialty manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Exposure to process optimization, troubleshooting, and equipment improvements.
  • Experience with Aveva PI, TrendMiner, CHEMCAD, etc. preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate process improvements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and process engineering principles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Proficiency with data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
