Duties

  • Operate CNC lathe machines to produce high-precision metal parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications
  • Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibrating equipment for optimal performance
  • Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code languages, ensuring accurate machining operations
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to verify part dimensions and tolerances
  • Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges,
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to maintain efficiency and safety
  • Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, machine setup, and process improvements aligned with lean manufacturing principles

Requirements

 

  • Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code/M-code)
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting complex technical drawings
  • Knowledge of machining tools, manual machining techniques, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality inspection
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and perform basic math calculations for measurements and tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently
  • Mechanical aptitude combined with a commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement practices
