Seeking Legal Assistant for Business Immigration Law Practice

Responsibilities include:Â
- Government Petitions
- Print, assemble and prepare all petitions to be filed with USCIS.
- Database Management & Reporting
- Update Case Manager and case status as appropriate in case management database.
- Document drafting
- Enhance client service, efficiency and productivity providing support to attorneys and paralegals in the preparation and administration of immigration filings.
- Draft/edit correspondence as requested by attorneys and paralegals.
- Client Coordination and Training
- Generate and track Representation Agreements and retainer invoices.
- Coordinate of legal team training and webinars.
- Responsible for answer phones, directing to the appropriate team member and taking accurate messages.
- Schedule client conference calls and send reminders for legal team members.
- Back-up Client Intake Coordinator to complete potential client intakes, schedule consultations and send new client questionnaires.
- Mail Processing, Filing & Correspondence
- Handle all incoming and outgoing immigration correspondence.
- Distribute USCIS correspondence to the legal team and mail appropriate documents to clients.
- Scan, organize, label and file all electronic documents.
- Process all government correspondence.
- Office Administration
- Coordinate monthly firm lunch.
- Order and manage office supplies.
- Coordinate firm events (retreats, meetings).
- Assist attorneys with expense reimbursement.
- Assist in all matters as needed (e.g. calendaring deadlines, faxing, maintaining reception area, watering plants, running dishwasher etc.)
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, writing and other communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well with clients and other
- Excellent computer (MS Office) skills
- Flexibility with changing priorities
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
Expected Hours/Work location:
- 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed
- Work is completed in the office
