The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Health and Well-Being Program Director to join our team.
The Health and Well-Being Program Director will work with the Senior Health and Well-Being Director creating positive and inspiring programs for our members. You聽will assist in overseeing our group exercise instructors and teaching group exercise classes. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation of health and fitness events and聽ensuring the smooth operation of our facility's health and wellbeing programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate programs, activities, and events.
- Create and schedule health and well-being classes and activities.
- Establish new program activities and expand programs to meet the needs of the community in accordance with the Association鈥檚 strategic and operating plans.
- Coordinate the use of facilities and needed equipment for program activities and events.
- Instruct classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all cultures, skills, and fitness levels
- Assist in Recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling, and leading staff and volunteers as needed.
- Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance.
- Support development and implementation of program-specific volunteer training program.
- Schedule shifts, arrange shift coverage, process time off request requests, review, approve, and submit time cards.
- Track, record and report volunteer time appropriately.
- Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and funded.
- Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree and/or two years of related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development (preferred).
- Knowledge of current health and well-being safety and program standards, the latest trends in the industry, and the ability to articulate and incorporate them.
- Knowledge of and experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinion, and perceptions.
- You value and promote diversity and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Wage: $23.70 to $29.91 per hour, depending on qualifications

| The Health and Well-being Program Director develops, coordinates, and provides administrative support for the department at a large branch, as defined by budget size, staff count, and program scope and scale. Supervises department staff and their functions to ensure quality programs. Provides leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants through innovative program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of staff and volunteers. Key Responsibilities
| 路Design, implement, and evaluate programs, activities, and events. 路Create and schedule health and well-being classes. 路Establish new program activities and expand programs to meet the needs of the community in accordance with Association strategic and operating plans. 路Coordinate use of facilities for program activities and events. 路Confidently lead members through health and well-being programs while demonstrating current safety guidelines to assist in improving the four components of fitness; flexibility, strength, muscular endurance, and cardio-respiratory conditioning, for all fitness levels. 路Assist members with fitness goals through motivation, instruction, and support. 路Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program. 路Track hourly usage to ensure the department has enough staff for safety. 路Provide input to help inform and develop marketing materials and support distribution of program information. 路Collaborate with the Association Operational Focus Groups and other directors of YMCA PKC branches to ensure consistent association-wide programming. 路Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations. 路Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. 路Identify and develop small groups and activities. 路Manage and implement the approved program budget. 路Research and purchase new equipment. 路Utilize purchase orders, check requests and expense reports per association policies. Use a system to track and monitor ongoing expenses, purchase orders and inventory. 路Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed. 路Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance. 路Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 路Support development and implementation of program specific volunteer training program. Assist staff in identifying productive and creative volunteer roles. 路Review, approve, and submit staff time cards to payroll department per schedule. 路Track volunteer hours and record appropriately. 路Schedule shifts and process time off request forms for staff. 路Provide all departmental staff with professional development. 路Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and funded. 路Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete. 路Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission. 路Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events. 路Develop relationships with internal/external members to secure and support branch financial development success. 路Provide training and equip staff with tools to better communicate our cause. 路Cleaning and sanitation protocols will be required of all staff. 路Staff will be responsible for frequent touchpoint cleaning and sanitizing in specific areas. 路Train and support staff on safety protocols, cleaning and sanitizing. 路Staff are expected to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE. 路Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment. 路Other duties as assigned. |
