Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Simi Valley Plant - SImi Vallely, CA 93063Position Type: Full-TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: First ShiftJob Category: ManufacturingJOB SUMMARY:  Utilizes engineering, lean manufacturing, and variation minimization techniques to develop and implement processes and tooling for the fabrication of parts, finishing and assembly, components, subassemblies, and final products.  Leads manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives.  Verifies that resulting methods meet current ergonomic laws and guidelines.  Develops work instructions, procedures and illustrations.  Estimates manufacturing costs, determines production standards and makes recommendations for tooling and processing requirements.  Actively involved in the purchase of capital equipment.  Works with the employees responsible for maintenance, insures best practice preventative maintenance practices are implemented, and that processes are available when needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maximizes efficiency, quality, and productivity of existing production lines and processes utilizing value stream mapping techniques, and robust engineering principles. Works with Product Designers to insure new offerings are designed for manufacturability. Leads equipment and facility related projects including planning, analysis, proposal, execution, and communication. Develops sequences of operation and work instructions. Participates on company SMART goal initiatives. Trains production associates as processes are modified and improved. Completes ECO/ECN functions as they pertain to changes in the production of products. Plans and implements the production of new products and processes, as well as modification or expansion to existing ones into the manufacturing operation so as to insure a quality products are produced in an efficient and safe manner. Estimates production costs and develop manufacturing plans for new products or modification to existing products and/or processes. Develops and maintains production related performance metrics. Determines production capacities and manpower requirements for each department and product family. Identifies production problems and develop corrections and improvements to shop efficiency. Audits and corrects, as necessary, the production standards, methods, and parameters. Works with the maintenance team to insure processes are reliable and available when needed. Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, and analyzes technical data to determine specifications. Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches required to meet production requirements for new or improved products. Conducts independent technical investigations related to ergonomic issues. Reviews reported safety concerns and identifies solutions.  Verifies all processes and procedures are in accordance with OSHA regulations.   ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Assists with efforts in keeping our manufacturing data current and accurate in ERP. Active participant on Safety Committees. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. QualificationsTechnical Competencies: BS in Manufacturing Engineering, or other applicable field, or equivalent. Minimum of 1-3 years of applicable and diversified experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a metal fabrication environment. In depth training and experience/implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. Experience with Six Sigma, preferably trained at a green or black belt level. Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety requirements preferred. High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting. Experience managing facility related activities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and ERP systems. PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to travel domestically 25-50%.
