Job Description

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic system solutions offered to aerospace and defense customers for a wide array of applications. EBAD products and capabilities set the U.S. standard and are highly sought after in the international community.

EBAD seeks a capable individual for the position of Development Technician reporting to the Test Engineering Lead. The position is located in Simsbury, CT.

Responsibilities:

The Development Technician provides support for environmental and functional testing of EBAD products, test lab capability growth, inventory and technical problem solving in the following areas:

Equipment:

Equipment Calibration

Equipment Preventative Maintenance

Equipment Troubleshooting

Equipment Repair

Instrumentation:

Accelerometers

Charge Amplifiers & Signal Conditioners

Thermocouples

Oscilloscopes

Other:

Test Process Creation/Review

Inventory Ownership

Area Ownership

Training

Audits

Requirements:

High School Diploma (Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred)

Skills:

Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Hand/Power Tools
Technical Problem Solving
Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration
Microsoft Office Programs

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with Data Acquisition & Software (LabVIEW, Vibration Research)
Experience using Oscilloscopes
Mechanical Design (SolidWorks)

Preferred Background Knowledge:

Environmental Testing (Climatics, Dynamics, etc.)
Instrumentation (Accelerometers, Signal Conditioners, Thermocouples, etc.)
