Job Description

The Radiographic Technician will support production and quality operations by performing radiographic inspection of aerospace and defense components using film and digital / computed radiography methods. This position is responsible for producing, reviewing, and documenting radiographic images in accordance with approved procedures, technique sheets, customer requirements, ASTM standards, NAS 410 requirements, and applicable drawing specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Radiographic Testing, including both conventional film radiography and digital / computed radiography. This role requires attention to detail, sound technical judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to work in a production environment while supporting quality, safety, audit readiness, and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic inspections using film and digital / computed radiography methods in accordance with approved procedures, technique sheets, customer requirements, ASTM standards, NAS 410 requirements, and applicable specifications.
  • Read, interpret, and evaluate radiographic film and digital images to determine product acceptability.
  • Set up and perform radiographic inspections while following established techniques, exposure requirements, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Support the creation, review, and maintenance of radiographic technique sheets and inspection documentation.
  • Verify product compliance to drawings, specifications, and applicable inspection requirements.
  • Complete accurate inspection records, image records, review documentation, and discrepancy reports as required.
  • Maintain and support film and digital image databases, including retrieval of completed images and inspection records.
  • Assist with calibration, system checks, process controls, and compliance requirements for radiographic equipment and related inspection tools.
  • Support internal and external audits, customer reviews, safety reviews, and quality system requirements.
  • Work with production, quality, engineering, and NDT personnel to support inspection priorities and resolve inspection-related questions.
  • Support additional NDT methods as needed based on certification, training, and department requirements.
  • Maintain department supplies, records, and inspection resources as assigned.
  • Follow all applicable safety requirements for radiographic operations and production work areas.

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements

  • Certified Level 2 Radiographic Testing Technician with experience in film radiography and digital / computed radiography preferred.
  • Experience performing radiographic inspection in an aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with NAS 410, ASTM requirements, customer specifications, and applicable NDT procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to evaluate radiographic film and digital images with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience producing radiographic film and CR images while following approved technique sheets.
  • Experience supporting or creating radiographic technique sheets preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality system requirements preferred.
  • PT Level 2 certification or experience may be considered, but Radiographic Testing is the primary focus of this position.
  • N-Ray / NRT Level 2 certification or experience is considered a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to train in additional NDT methods, including N-Ray, preferred.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a production team environment while supporting internal and external customer requirements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
