Job Description

EBAD’s continued growth requires an accomplished engineer for the position of Electronics Test Engineer – ProductĀ Development andĀ Qualification, reporting to the Test Engineering Lead. The positionĀ is located inĀ Simsbury, CT.Ā 


The Test Engineer provides support for environmental testing of EBAD electronics products across the product lifecycle, while contributing to test lab capability growth and technical problem solving. The Test Engineer is responsible for owning and executing environmental test series—including climatic, shock, vibration, and electronics performance testing—to support product qualification and validation.Ā 

Responsibilities include:Ā 

  • Evaluation of environmental requirements and test needsĀ Ā 

  • Development of detailed test plans and proceduresĀ Ā 

  • Scheduling and coordination of testing with internal and external laboratoriesĀ Ā 

  • SupportĀ ofĀ electronics performance testingĀ Ā 

  • Interpretation and analysis of test data and resultsĀ Ā 

  • Preparation of clear and concise test reports and documentationĀ Ā 

  • Troubleshooting of test setupsĀ 

  • Selection of appropriate test equipment and instrumentationĀ Ā 

  • Development, validation, and trainingĀ ofĀ test methodsĀ Ā 

  • SupportĀ ofĀ continuous improvement initiatives within the test organizationĀ Ā 

  • Documentation and standardization of test processesĀ Ā 

  • Support of test program scope definition and cost estimationĀ Ā 

Requirements:Ā 
Candidates shall have an AS or BS in an engineering discipline, with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. Non-degreed candidates will be considered with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience in a test lab environment.Ā 

Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with individuals at multiple levels of the organization. A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability are required. Knowledge of electronicĀ products is required; experience with explosive materials and/or ordnance devices is beneficial. Aerospace or defense industry experience is preferred.Ā 

The ideal candidate will have experience in a test lab environment with exposure to several of the following areas:Ā 

Climatic TestingĀ 

  • Thermal cycling and thermal shockĀ Ā 

  • Temperature and humidity testingĀ Ā 

  • Temperature and vacuum (altitude) testingĀ Ā 

Dynamic TestingĀ 

  • Random and sine vibrationĀ Ā 

  • Classical and SRS shockĀ Ā 

  • Acceleration testingĀ Ā 

InstrumentationĀ 

  • Pressure transducersĀ Ā 

  • AccelerometersĀ Ā 

  • OscilloscopesĀ Ā 

  • Charge amplifiers and signal conditionersĀ Ā 

  • Constant current suppliesĀ Ā 

  • Digital and analog filtersĀ Ā 

  • Thermocouples and humidity probesĀ Ā 

Desired Skills:Ā 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsĀ Ā 

  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Ā Ā 

  • Familiarity with data acquisition software (LabVIEW, VR9500)Ā
