We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our growing behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment program. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical and nursing services for clients receiving detoxification and residential treatment services.

The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, highly organized, and passionate about supporting individuals on their recovery journey.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and review intake documentation
  • Monitor client health status, vital signs, CIWA/COWS assessments, and detoxification progress
  • Oversee medication monitoring, medication counts, and medication room audits
  • Accept and transcribe physician telephone orders and ensure timely physician approvals
  • Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, and outside healthcare providers
  • Administer medications, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and injectable MATs as ordered
  • Complete documentation audits and ensure compliance with regulatory timelines
  • Monitor infection control practices and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide staff education and training on medical and nursing-related topics
  • Participate in Joint Commission performance improvement activities and reporting
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide on-call support as needed
  • Supervise Detox Technicians and support the medical department's daily operations


Qualifications


Required

  • Current California LVN License in good standing
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Successful completion of background check, TB testing, and health screening

Preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in addiction medicine, behavioral health, detoxification, or residential treatment settings
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, DHCS, and healthcare licensing requirements
  • Experience with substance use disorders, mental health treatment, and recovery-oriented care
  • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills
