We are a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for our client law firms.
Due to increased demand, we are now interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Southern California Family Law Attorney seeking a long-term relationship with the opportunity to transition from 1099 contract status to a full-time W-2 position if it proves to be a great fit for both the attorney and the firm.
Remote work hours will vary but are expected to be approximately 10+ hours per week. While the position is primarily remote, candidates must be located in Southern California to attend occasional in-person client meetings, hearings, mediations, depositions, or other court-related proceedings when needed.
Attorney Responsibilities:
- Handle family law matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and discovery
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Manage client communications and provide legal guidance throughout the case
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances as needed
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines
- Collaborate closely with the firm's legal team to provide high-quality client service
Attorney Requirements:
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of California
- Minimum of 5+ years of family law experience
- Strong experience handling divorce, child custody, support, property division, and related family law matters
- Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Must be located in Southern California
- Available to attend occasional in-person client meetings, hearings, mediations, and depositions when necessary
- Seeking a long-term 1099 relationship with interest in potentially transitioning to a W-2 position
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters efficiently
- Self-starter who works well independently in a remote environment

Our Attorney pay rate starts at $80/hour.
