JOB OVERVIEW

The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service while creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for hotel guests. This role prepares and serves a diverse selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, provides outstanding customer service, maintains bar operations, and ensures compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service regulations. The Bartender plays a key role in enhancing the overall guest experience by delivering prompt, professional, and personalized service in a fast-paced, full-service hotel environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes, brand standards, and responsible alcohol service practices
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by providing prompt, courteous, and personalized beverage and food service while fostering a welcoming atmosphere
  • Accurately receive, prepare, and process beverage and food orders from guests and service staff in a high-volume environment
  • Recommend beverages and menu items, utilizing product knowledge to enhance guest experience and maximize sales opportunities
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all applicable liquor laws, responsible alcohol service regulations, and company policies
  • Process cash, credit card, and room charge transactions accurately, maintaining accountability for all financial activities
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar, equipment, glassware, workstations, and guest areas in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Prepare and replenish garnishes, mixers, beverages, and bar supplies to ensure operational readiness throughout service
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation and inventory counts, and communicate replenishment needs to management
  • Contribute to beverage menu development, seasonal promotions, and specialty cocktail offerings as directed
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and professionally address situations involving intoxicated or disruptive guests in accordance with hotel policies
  • Collaborate with culinary, restaurant, banquet, and hotel operations teams to ensure efficient service delivery and exceptional guest experience
  • Comply with all hotel policies, food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and quality assurance standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or other high-volume hospitality environment preferred
  • Previous experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash transactions preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, mixology, wines, beers, spirits, and responsible alcohol service practices
  • Excellent guest service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain cash handling accountability
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating professionalism and initiative
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

Schedule

Work schedules are based on the operational needs of the business. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for this position.

Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands

Fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 250lbs. often for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment. May include exposure to high levels of ambient noise for prolonged periods, must be able to perform essential job functions effectively in such conditions.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained as part of the orientation process.
