Material Handler

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and a valid driver’s license required
• One to two (1-2) years of manufacturing-related experience required
• Twenty-four to thirty-six (24-36) months of on-the-job training required

Qualifications

• Dependability to be consistently at work and on time
• Basic reading and math skills, including knowledge of fractions and decimal computations
• Basic verbal/written comprehension skills
• Basic measuring skills using tape measure, micrometers, and/or calipers
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines
• A “Team” mentality
• Repetitive standing and/or bending capability during normal phase duties
• Medium/heavy (20-75 lbs.) lifting capability during normal phase duties

Responsibilities

• Perform a safety evaluation of the assigned workstation and surrounding areas.
• Assist manufacturing lines as needed.
• Operate material handling motorized equipment (upon completion of in-house training/certification) to load/unload trucks and train cars.
• Assist maintenance personnel in a helper capacity.
• Perform workstation and surrounding area housekeeping tasks as required.
• Set and position machine dyes to comply with production specifications.
