JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:              Associate Audio/Video Technician 

DEPARTMENT:      Computer Services

REPORTS TO:         Director of Computer Services

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Support faculty, staff and students in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of all technology-enabled classrooms. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, plan and install systems for TEC classrooms. Provide ongoing support for these rooms and the equipment involved.
  • Manage equipment inventory. 
  • Create and manage backups for all equipment.
  • Maintain lifecycle plan for TEC equipment
  • Work closely with the network administrator to ensure efficient use of network resources. 
  • Assist with the management of lighting control systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • A clear understanding and commitment to the Reformed perspective and mission of Dordt University and the ability to clearly articulate and communicate the mission effectively.

  • Ability to express an active Christian commitment, which shall include identification with a local organized church that holds to beliefs that are consistent with the mission of the university.

  • Understanding and commitment to the mission of Dordt University.
  • Working experience in computer operations with a minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems. 

  • Verbal and written communication skills. Need to be able to communicate effectively with Dordt University faculty.

  • Ability to organize and maintain records.

  • Ability to manage complex projects to their successful completion. 

  • Physical skills for installing equipment.
