Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 35 public school districts and 33 accredited, non-public schools. The agency serves 45,000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford).Â

 Job Summary
Provide support to AEA and LEA staff in utilization and maintenance of all aspects of technology, including hardware, software, network systems, and related technology.
 Qualifications
- Two-year post-secondary education or equivalent technical training/certification, plus two years of work experience providing computer and technology support.
- Proficient in the use of Mac IOS and Google products.
- Knowledge of computing devices, software interface, network systems (wired and wireless), routers, and firewalls.
Essential Functions
- Assist in promoting and implementing the AEA’s technology plan.
- Maintain technology devices and provide support to AEA staff for any device that is malfunctioning.
- Monitor and respond in a timely manner to technology support requests.
- Provide excellent customer service to AEA employees (creative solutions, quick thinking, resourcefulness, and patience).
- Responsible for supporting all devices including computers, Chromebook, monitors, keyboards, mouse, hard drive, monitors, and audio/visual equipment.
- Maintenance of user devices, including upgrading and configurations as needed.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and support of operating systems on desktops and mobile devices.
- Provide training on technology devices to both new and existing employees.
- Maintain knowledge of all applications used within the AEA in order to provide support to employees as needed.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all technology equipment and software.
Working Conditions
Occasionally exposed to dust, noise, odors, and other workplace irritants. Stress associated with work pace and pressure. Work can involve irregular hours and days in a variety of settings: AEA offices, schools, and remote.
Travel
Some travel within the agency is required. Occasional travel within the state for meetings, conferences and training relevant to the position. Exposed to the hazards of the road while driving. Use of a personal vehicle is expected.
Terms of Employment
260-day contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on management support evaluation.
