Position overview:
 The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for all Manufacturing, Packaging, Inventory, and distribution operations as well as manufacturing support functions.
Essential Functions:Â
This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary from time to time.
- Manage and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures that produce products that meet quality, cost, volume criteria, and objectives.Â
- Suggest plans or processes that could minimize cost through effective utilization of employees, equipment, and materials.
- Assure attainment of standards and production schedules.
- Manage production problems and employee grievances, and refer unresolved grievances.
- Foster an environment where safety and quality are high priorities.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure proper raw and dry material are being used and inventory is correct.
- Learn the operation of the facility to enhance knowledge and be able to train new employees when needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Â
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize.
- Assist team members when needed to accomplish team goals.
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.Â
Minimum Qualifications:Â
- Prior management experience.
- Discretion as there will likely be sensitive information and figures discussed.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize.
- Able to work with cross-functional departments within the organization.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills with experience using Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements:Â
- Required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
- Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Close vision abilities required.
- Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds continuously.Â
Description of the Work Environment:Â This position is part of the Plant and most of the work will take place within the Plant portion of the facility. This position will come in contact with many other employees within the facility and it is the expectation of the organization that we always maintain an attitude of dignity and respect when interacting with each other.
