Major Duties and Responsibilities: Determine replacement part required, according to inspection of old part, customer request, or customer description of the malfunction Advise customer on substitution or modification of part when identical replacement is not available Utilize computer to determine part stock number and price Demonstrate equipment to customer and explain functioning of equipment Prepare sales slip or sales contract Receive and fill telephone orders for parts Inspect returned part for defects and exchange defective part or refund money Keep inventory control on cores to be returned Fill salesmen’s orders for new truck parts Prepare wreck estimates and fax to customer Keep display area updated, organized, and priced according to sales fliers Keep work area neat and organized Assist in taking physical inventory of stock Complete training requirements for the parts department Attend scheduled parts meetings QualificationsEducation/Training or Experience: High School diploma or GED required Diploma from Technical College preferred Intermediate to advanced computer skills required General knowledge of trucks, truck parts, and the trucking industry preferred
