JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
Each day, when we show up to work at POET Bioproduct it’s our job to market and transport, as efficiently as possible, over 20,000 tons of our high-quality feed products from our bio-processing facilities to our valued customers. We use hopper and tanker railcars to transport our products all over North America. Your role as a Rail Logistics Coordinator is critical to ensure our customers receive the product they rely on. You will be involved in all aspects of railcar shipments including billing, tracking, and solving any challenges encountered between our biorefineries and our customer’s locations. Sound intimidating? This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:
Execute and optimize rail shipments by evaluating freight spreads, product quality specifications, arbitrage opportunities, and market timing.
Develop and manage rail shipment patterns by leveraging knowledge of rail logistics, terminology, and billing processes.
Monitor and trace rail shipments to proactively identify and resolve potential service or transit issues in coordination with rail carriers.
Utilize contract management, shipment tracking, and operational systems to ensure accurate and timely execution.
Investigate and reconcile invoicing discrepancies, including freight charges and related costs.
Deliver high-quality customer service when interfacing with customers.
Partner with our bioprocessing facilities to understand operational needs and help solve any constraints.
Analyze shipment routing and destination options to determine the most efficient and cost-effective location.
Provide contract management and operational support to merchandisers.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support additional operational initiatives and business needs as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in an office environment, working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand. Most of our Sioux Falls office workspace consists of an open-concept design intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
