LSS provides summer programming for children at our Hilltop United Methodist location. Staff have an opportunity to supervise youth from a variety of backgrounds at our various locations, including economically disadvantaged youth, English language learners, and youth with special medical and behavioral needs.Â

LOCATION:Â Hilltop United Methodist, Sioux Falls, SD
SUMMER HOURS: End of May through End of August; Monday through Friday 7am-6pm, with flexible shifts, 10 to 35 hours a week. No Weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES: If you are looking for a summer job working with kids in a fun and casual environment, LSS Childcare & Education Services has a variety of opportunities available. Our Summer Program Assistants supervise children ages 5 and up. Staff members lead children in recreational activities, including arts and crafts, games, and implementing lesson plans designed to be both fun and educational. Our staff supervise regular trips to the local spray park, libraries, parks, swimming pool and on field trips throughout the community. This is a great opportunity for college students or teachers looking for a summer job.
LSS provides staff with a strong team of supervisors to ensure a high level of comfort in their role as well as excellent training and communication. There are opportunities to get more hours and responsibilities as you get older too!Â
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 16 years old at time of hire to meet licensing requirements.Â
- If age 18 and above, requires active auto-insurance and a valid driver’s license.Â
- Willing to become CPR trained, LSS will provide.
- Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.Â
