Job Responsibilities:
- Striplinens from vacated rooms and transport dirty linens to the laundry room.Transport clean linens to housekeeper carts and linen storage areas. Wash, dry,fold, and stock all linens and terry items.
- Visuallyinspects all soiled linens and spot treats stains before washing. Visuallyinspects all washed linens to verify stains are gone. Visually inspect linensafter drying to assess condition before stocking on shelves. Folds and stockslinens in accordance with company established guidelines.
- Safely andeffectively operates all machines in the laundry room, including, withoutlimitation, the following: (a) commercial washers and dryers; (b) commercialdishwasher; (c) chemical dispensing machines; and (d) linen folding machine.
- Keep allfloors clean and free of debris and liquids, including, without limitation,sweeping, mopping, and manual pick-up of trash.
- Clean lintfilters in dryers. Empty garbage cans and dispose of in proper dumpsters. Emptyrecycle cans and dispose of in proper recycle receptacles in dumpster area.
- Restockhousekeeper carts with clean linens and other items needed.
- Maintainthe laundry and storage areas in a clean, safe, presentable condition,including, without limitation, wiping down machines, counters, and dusting.
- Report anyunusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
- Maintain afriendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.
- Maintaincustomersā privacy.
- Maintain ahigh level of professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must be dependable and on time.
- Treat allcoworkers with respect.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotelstandards and Federal, State and Local laws, including OSHA regulations.
- Use appropriate protective equipment when working with soiled linensand possesses the ability to learn the procedures for processing isolationlinens.
- Followproper procedures in handling hazardous substances.
- Performhousekeeping duties, when required.
- Performother duties as assigned.
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Fourteen years of age and older -- Fourteenthrough seventeen years of age will have a modified job description provided byManagement.
- Basic knowledge ofgeneral cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation ofstandard cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and effectivelycommunicate to the Housekeeping Supervisor,management, peers, and hotel guests.
- Ability tocommunicate with guests, staff, and the public in a professional and hospitablemanner.
- Self-motivated and ability to work and properlyperform job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and/or instressful situations.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Ability and willingness to take direction andsupervision from Housekeeping Supervisor, management, and/or other leademployees regarding job duties and task assignments.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding tocarry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems effectively andefficiently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long or irregularhours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to learn and perform security, safety, emergency, and accidentprevention policies and procedures.
- Able toremain in a standing position for extended periods of time.Ā Sitting, standing, walking, reaching,twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, and squatting in the performance of dailyactivities.Ā Grasping and repetitive handmovement.
- Ability toexpress or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oralinformation to management, peers, and hotel guests.Ā Communicate instructions to othersaccurately, loudly, and/or quickly.
- Workinvolves perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.Ā Work also involves having clarity of visionat various distances.
- Ability to move items weighing 30 pounds or more.Ā Ascend/descend stairs and ramps.Ā Work also consists of moving throughout thehotel property.
- Ability to exert upto 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequentlyor constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to work nights & some weekends.
