SEARHC is a non-profit health consortium serving Southeast Alaska residents. The Dentist participates as a dental provider or consultant for all age groups. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care in the home office and occasional village travel, developing and promoting dental health, advising the Director and Senior Clinical Director of Dental Services on patient care, submitting reports and documentation timely, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices and Evidence-Based Dentistry, supervising dental residents, and maintaining credentialing requirements. The role requires flexibility for scheduling, occasional travel to remote villages via jet, ferry, and small aircraft, and adherence to safety and infection control guidelines. Physical demands include sitting over patients for extended periods and manual dexterity. Required education includes DDS or DMD degree, active dental license (Alaska preferred), BLS certification, and ACLS for sedation privileges. Experience required is 2+ years or completion of Dental Residency. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and evidence-based dentistry is necessary.
