SEARHC is a non-profit health consortium serving Southeast Alaska residents. The Dentist provides direct patient care in the home office and occasional village travel, serving infants to geriatrics. Responsibilities include developing and promoting dental health, advising the Director and Senior Clinical Director of Dental Services, submitting reports and documentation timely, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices and Evidence-Based Dentistry, supervising dental residents, and maintaining credentialing requirements. The role requires flexibility for scheduling, occasional travel to remote villages via jet, ferry, and small aircraft, and adherence to safety and infection control guidelines. Physical demands include sitting over patients for hours and manual dexterity. The work environment can be emotionally and physically challenging. Required education includes DDS or DMD degree, active dental license (Alaska preferred), BLS certification, and 2+ years experience or completion of dental residency. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and evidence-based dentistry practices is required.
