We are currently looking for a Soiled Sorter at our Skokie facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills.  If you are ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The attendants on the belt perform the following tasks:
One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
The second and third attendant sorts the second largest pieces – underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
The fourth and fifth attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
Assist and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
High School Education, GED, and formal education/training
1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10 hour shift.
