Identifies medical record deficiencies and processes accordingly. Assists physicians with medical records projects, as needed.
Job Responsibility
- Conducts a daily record review and identifies documentation deficiencies.
- Utilizes computer system to enter and record all deficiencies.
- Generates deficiency report and attaches to corresponding medical record.
- Interfiles miscellaneous documents in appropriate record and distributes remaining reports, as required.
- Checks ticklers for operative reports and discharge summaries not yet placed in the medical record.
- Reviews incomplete charts to determine which record deficiencies have been corrected.
- Updates records in computer system.
- Assists Physicians and maintains physician attendance log, documenting work completed.
- Refers questions about the status of dictated reports to the transcription office.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
