Roles and Responsibilities 

 

  • Receive and process donated clothing, shoes, household goods, and other items through the drive-thru operation at the Fixed Donation Center (FDC).
  • Provide excellent customer service by professionally greeting and assisting donors while promoting the organization’s mission and community impact.
  • Collaborate with truck drivers, supervisors, and team members to organize, sort, transport, and prepare donated goods for processing and recycling.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company operational, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Safely load and unload donor vehicles, carts, containers, and box trucks while following established safety procedures.
  • Inspect, sort, and categorize donated items according to operational guidelines and quality standards.
  • Prepare and organize materials and products for recycling, distribution, or further processing.
  • Operate effectively in both indoor and outdoor work environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Move, transport, and handle carts, bins, and donated goods throughout the workday.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

 

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and apply company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with donors, team members, and management.
  • Ability to accurately maintain records and communicate operational updates and concerns to management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed. 
  • Working environment includes inside of building withsemi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.
