Rhopac Fabricated Products LLC is seeking an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for maintaining a safe, disciplined, and efficient production environment while ensuring product quality, delivery performance, cost control, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to production employees and technicians, proactively address operational challenges, and coordinate activities across production, quality, inventory, maintenance, purchasing, shipping, and receiving.

Plant Manager Key Responsibilities


Production Management

  • Organize production schedules to maintain workflow, product quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage the production order process and monitor daily production priorities.
  • Plan and allocate manpower based on production requirements.
  • Oversee daily plant operations and resolve production issues promptly.
  • Anticipate potential production constraints and implement corrective actions before they affect output or delivery.
  • Close production jobs in Epicor daily and verify labor and material costs for accuracy.
  • Communicate production shortages, material constraints, and operational risks to the appropriate stakeholders.

Plant Manager - Leadership and Employee Development

  • Maintain a disciplined, respectful, and positive manufacturing environment.
  • Coach, lead, and support production employees and technicians.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Evaluate employee knowledge, performance, and competency.
  • Lead and support technical and operational training initiatives.
  • Manage the employee training matrix process in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Address performance concerns and recognize opportunities for employee development.

Health and Safety

  • Lead the daily implementation of the company’s health and safety philosophy.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors within the facility.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable safety legislation, company policies, and established procedures.
  • Identify workplace hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and reinforce safe work practices.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure incoming and outgoing materials meet established quality requirements.
  • Verify that production procedures and documentation are followed in accordance with ISO requirements.
  • Support the prevention, investigation, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure employees follow approved processes.

Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving

  • Manage daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Coordinate incoming freight and delivery schedules.
  • Review receiving documents to confirm materials have been received and recorded correctly.
  • Manage the cycle-count process and support inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure materials are stored, handled, and transferred appropriately.

Workplace Organization and 6S

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Lead the facility’s 6S program and reinforce established workplace standards.
  • Ensure scheduled audits are completed and corrective actions are followed through.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant organization, efficiency, and visual management.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Monitor equipment conditions and communicate maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel when machine or equipment issues arise.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
  • Assist with prioritizing repairs based on safety, production, and customer requirements.

Purchasing and Supplies

  • Coordinate the purchase of shop and manufacturing supplies as required.
  • Coordinate the purchase and availability of adhesives and other production materials.
  • Monitor supply levels and take action to prevent shortages.
  • Work with vendors and internal departments to support production requirements.

Plant Manager Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Several years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Previous experience managing plant operations, production teams, or manufacturing departments.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control, quality systems, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working within an ISO-certified environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Epicor or a comparable enterprise resource planning system is an asset.
  • Familiarity with 6S, Lean manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of labor and material cost control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions
