Position Title: Information Technology System Engineer (Tactical) - Mid - ACTIVE Secret Clearance with TS Eligibility

Position Overview:

S2Technologies is actively seeking candidates who can install, test, and support Windows and Android-based systems, assess the vulnerability status of both networked and standalone assets, and provide reporting and risk assessments as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Installs, tests, and supports Windows and Android based systems. • Designs, builds, briefs, and deploys Tactical Land Area Network (TACLAN) Images. • Inventories, tracks, and resolves usability and configuration issues of new TACLAN Images. • Responsible for scanning, remediating, rescanning, and reporting to cognizant authority the status of Category I vulnerabilities in support of the accreditation of new TACLAN Images. • Downloads, installs, and verifies Microsoft Updates in support of TACLAN Images. • Generates documentation necessary to receive an Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Interim Authority to Operate (IATO). • Builds small test networks in support of Network Security Vulnerability scanning. • Troubleshoots client/server and network issues. • Conducts testing, quality assurance, and drafts test plans for functional testing and accreditation. • Responsible for drafting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents, accreditation documentation, and conducting peer review of documents created by others. • Proficient installing, configuring, and troubleshooting VMware server virtualization products independently. • Configures Information Technology assets in accordance with Federal Information Processing guidelines (such as DISA STIGs and NSA SNACs). • Performs configuration and maintenance of networking equipment - primarily routers, switches, and firewalls. • Runs the DoD‑approved Information Assurance tool ACAS Security Center to assess the vulnerability status of networked and non‑networked assets and provide reporting and risk assessments on an as‑needed basis.
  • Serves as the central coordinator between J2 staff, J6 technical teams, and external partners (e.g., DIA). • Provides concise, regular IT updates. • Works with IT staff on routine upgrades and small‑scale projects, following established procedures. • Implements directorate long‑term IT modernization roadmap for the directorate. • Conducts market research to recommend optimal technical solutions that support current and future IT system requirements.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 years of System Administrator experience at the NOC level • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot VMware server virtualization products independently • Experience configuring IT assets in accordance with Federal Information Processing guidelines (such as DISA STIGs and NSA SNACs) • Experience working with the DoD DIACAP accreditation process • Experience in configuration and maintenance of networking equipment, primarily routers, switches, and firewalls • Ability to run DoD‑approved Information Assurance tools to assess vulnerability status of networked and non‑networked assets and provide reporting/risk assessments as needed

Required Security Clearance:

  • ACTIVE Secret Clearance with TS Eligibility is required
