The role: 

As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will help drive our goals by: 

  • Leading day-to-day warehouse shift activities, providing clear direction, regular communication and support to Warehouse Technicians 

  • Role modelling Johnson Matthey’s values while promoting a strong safety culture aligned to EHS standards and Life Saving Policies 

  • Coordinating shipping, receiving, material storage and timely delivery of materials to support production requirements 

  • Supporting team development through coaching, performance feedback and contribution to annual performance reviews in partnership with the Warehouse Supervisor 

  • Ensuring effective onboarding, training and documentation for new team members 

  • Leading problem-solving activities, escalating operational or safety issues where required and supporting continuous improvement and 5S initiatives 

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role: 

  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred 

  • 2–3 years of warehouse or material control experience, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment 

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred 

  • Working knowledge of EHS, OSHA and hazardous material handling and shipping requirements 

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-based, high-volume operation
