Medical Receptionist
Groth Pain & Spine — Long Island, NY
Pay: $20–$25/hour, based on experience | Full-Time | $500 Sign-On Bonus

We're Looking for a People Person to Be the Face of Our Practice

At Groth Pain & Spine, we believe exceptional healthcare starts the moment someone walks through our doors — and that first impression is entirely in your hands. We're searching for a warm, upbeat, and naturally personable Medical Receptionist who genuinely loves connecting with people and can bring positive energy to a busy front office, even on the hectic days.

Our patients are often navigating chronic pain and complex medical journeys. A friendly smile, a little humor, and a can-do attitude go a long way — and we're looking for someone whose personality lights up the room and puts patients at ease from check-in to check-out. If you're bubbly, quick on your feet, and thrive on making people feel welcome, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Greet and check in patients with warmth, professionalism, and genuine compassion
  • Manage a high-volume, fast-paced front desk with accuracy and a smile
  • Verify and update patient demographic and registration information
  • Collect copayments and outstanding balances, and document payments accurately
  • Schedule follow-up visits, procedures, and appointments
  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls, plus make outbound follow-up calls
  • Prepare patient charts and schedules ahead of each business day
  • Review charts for outstanding items and flag what's needed before appointments
  • Accurately enter and update information in the EMR
  • Communicate closely with providers, Medical Assistants, clinical teams, and administrative staff
  • Help patients with scheduling and general questions, routing clinical questions appropriately
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
  • Support daily office operations with additional administrative tasks as needed

Who Thrives in This Role

We're looking for someone with a truly bubbly, outgoing personality — someone who can turn a stressful moment into a positive one and make every patient feel seen. Beyond that spark, you should bring:

  • Exceptional multitasking and time-management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Solid computer skills and EMR proficiency
  • Excellent phone and in-person communication
  • Professionalism and tact when handling financial conversations
  • A positive, solution-oriented mindset, even under pressure
  • Patience, empathy, and genuine warmth with patients
  • Reliability, accountability, and a strong sense of teamwork
  • Openness to feedback and growth

Previous experience in a medical office, patient access, healthcare scheduling, or another high-volume front-desk environment is preferred, but a great attitude and eagerness to learn go a long way.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $500 sign-on bonus
  • $20–$25/hour, based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • 12 PTO days and 8 paid holidays
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Company-provided uniforms

Ready to Bring Your Energy to Our Team?
If you're ready to be the friendly face and voice that makes patients feel at home, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
