Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Lead and control purchasing projects to achieve targets.
  • Review, summarize and analyze various data (PPV, Budget, Usage, Cost/Price Changes).
  • Collect data to release to Purchasing Buyers for quoting activity.
  • Communicate the progress of the project to team members and executives.
  • Prepare necessary presentation material for meetings.
  • Maintain purchasing project documents such as tracking sheets and reports.
  • Communicate with suppliers/plant side for supplier issues to identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention while following standard procedures and resolve as needed.
  • Pull information as needed for managers/cross-function teams.
  • Organize information and results into Excel/report form (Countermeasure/FUPs/Retros/Data).
  • Research issues such as Past Quotes/Usages/Root Analysis/Supplier Info.
  • Travel to suppliers and other North American Plants (Go and See-issues).
  • Assist in ECI/PCR/ECR/FCR process between plant and suppliers.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in manufacturing industry with understanding of standard job functions and requirements within the industry.
  • Computer literacy: MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Strong data analytical/entry skills.
  • Self-Directed/Team Collaborate-meeting timelines/task closures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Prior Purchasing/PC/Project experience in automotive industry or industrial environment.
  • Time management
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, other Applied Science, or Purchasing Supply Chain Management. Bachelor's degree in Business or other non-technical area is acceptable based on proven technical skill.

Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 20 % per month.
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Attendance/Work Hour Requirements

  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs. Possibility of weekend for emergencies to prevent customer shut downs.
