The Rental Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operation of the rental department across all rental locations at The Summit at Snoqualmie. The Manager executes the department’s strategic direction by leading staffing, labor management, training, employee development, operational execution, purchasing, and financial performance.

Ā 

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, the Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is a lot to do all year long.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

Long Term ThinkingĀ 

  • Develop,Ā maintain, and communicate departmental policies, procedures, and operating standards, including current technical manuals and training materials.Ā 
  • Develop staffing and labor plans that align with business levels, operational requirements, and departmental labor budgets. Ā 

Excellence in ExecutionĀ 

  • Manage the daily operation of all rental locations, ensuring consistent execution of standards, policies, and procedures; monitor performance toĀ identifyĀ opportunities to improve efficiency, staffing, revenue, and guest service, and implement practical solutions to operational challenges.Ā 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional environment that meets property and safety standards, ensuring employees follow required safety, POS, and cash-handling procedures.Ā 

Attitude is EverythingĀ 

  • Build a positive, accountable, and professional team culture, andĀ maintainĀ a strong culture of safety throughout the department.Ā 
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with department leadership and other resort departments. Ā 

Develop Great PeopleĀ 

  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and seasonal staffing plans for the rental department.Ā 
  • Coach and develop Supervisors, the Assistant Manager, and Leads to strengthen leadership capabilities and operational performance. Ā 

Serve FirstĀ 

  • Establish andĀ maintainĀ high standardsĀ for guest service throughout the rental department.Ā 
  • Monitor guest feedback and operational issues and implement improvements toĀ anticipateĀ and exceed guest needs.Ā 

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

RequiredĀ 

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ā 
  • PreviousĀ management or supervisory experience in a ski resort, rental operation, retail, hospitality, or related environment.Ā 
  • Working knowledge of alpine ski and snowboard rental equipment and operations.Ā 
  • Experience managing labor budgets, staffing, scheduling, and departmental expenses.Ā 
  • Experience with employee hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.Ā 
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial information and make effective business decisions.Ā 
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Ā 
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and competing priorities.Ā 
  • Strong commitment to safety and guest service. Ā 

PreferredĀ 

  • Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, boot fitting, binding systems, and rental processes.Ā 
  • Binding certification from applicable manufacturers, preferred and/orĀ requiredĀ based on assigned technical responsibilities.Ā 
  • Fluency in a language other than English, particularly Spanish or other commonly spoken languages within the resort’s workforce and guest population.Ā

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this positions is:Ā  from $31.00 to $36.00/hr (DOE)Ā 

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k).Ā  An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
